This is the first week of our reading raffle. Children who have read at home during the week and have had their planners signed by their parent are entered into a raffle to win a prize. The number of days that children are expected to read is explained by the class teacher in the meeting at the start of the year. In most classes this will be every night.
Details below of ‘Farmer Scrooge’s Christmas Carol’ which is coming to Monk Fryston Community Centre on Sunday 27th December at 4pm.

Yorkshire’s own ‘Farmer Scrooge’ coming to your doorstep

Green Hammerton, Yorkshire: The much-lauded Badapple Theatre on Your Doorstep team are back with a Yorkshire comedy slant on the classic Dickens story ‘A Christmas Carol’. Writer Kate Bramley and her itinerant band of actors will be performing ‘Farmer Scrooge’s Christmas Carol’ about a blustering, skinflint farmer Ebeneezer Scrooge who gets his comeuppance as Mrs. Cratchitt helps him see the error of his penny-pinching ways. Full of local stories, carols and mayhem, Badapple Theatre’s latest production continues its tradition of telling great stories in original and inventive ways, blending puppetry, music and theatre in a new adaptation for all the family, best suited to ages 5 to 95! “It’s Ebeneezer Scrooge as you’ve never seen him before!” says Kate Bramley. “The story is set against the backdrop of 1950’s austerity so this production has an added resonance for us today – although I hope it still manages to raise a good chuckle!”
SONY award-winning songwriter Jez Lowe provides original songs, plus there will be a whacking great dose of seasonal bonhomie to make this the winter warmer to put a smile on everyone’s face this Christmas.
